Neighborhood Farm Share

Vision

Fields full of flowers in bloom, fresh produce at the peak of ripeness, families enjoying the outdoors, and neighbors being neighborly.

That’s the goal, anyway.

At Hungry Work Farm, we’re creating a space to share with folks who appreciate a down-to-earth and not-so-commercial vibe, where you can feel more like a neighbor and less like a customer. We’re growing the fun and funky items not found in the grocery store, and we’re doubling down on the items we want to fill our pantry with, like green beans for pickling and basil for pesto.

As a Neighborhood Farm Share Member, you’ll be part of a small (less than 20-member) community who celebrates each season with us. Small means we can keep things relaxed, and you can have a relationship with the farm. Get your hands dirty and help us weed, plant, or harvest, if that’s your thing. Join us for a dinner in the field or a field walk with a local beverage in hand.

The farm is located alongside permanently preserved Green Acres open space and Dilt’s Farm Park, which means you can walk the dogs, take your kiddo to the playground, and stop by the farm to pick some produce for the week.

The farm will be open to Members on Sundays. For other days of the week, Members can get in touch with us to visit - typically, a text or a phone call will suffice - to keep things simple and easy.

FAQ

  • Depending on the type of crop and how well it has performed each season, amounts will vary, but we aim to over-deliver! For example, strawberries may be limited to two or three quarts per member, while cherry tomatoes, green beans, and basil are all unlimited picks. What’s more, we’ll survey our members to find out what you want more.

  • Members who opt to receive weekly eggs can pick them up at the farm on Sundays or can pick them up by coordinating via text messge

  • Yes! Just be sure to send a text message before bringing the dog. If the dog is unruly, or doesn’t get along with the home team (Marley and Meeka), we’ll ask you to keep your dog on a leash or leave the dog in the car or at home during future visits.

  • Not yet, but we plan to eventually shift part of the barn to be a self-serve farm store.
